The Gasconade R-II School District consists of over 30 square miles and includes territories in four counties (Gasconade, Franklin, Crawford and Osage).
A seven member Board of Directors guide the activities of the District. The R-II District operates six attendance centers and a district administrative office.
A total of 2016 students attend the Gasconade County R-II School system. There are 256 employees serving the R-II students. Average district-wide pupil/teacher ratio for regular classroom teachers is 26/1.
Special Classes, opportunities and programs available to our students are: COE (Work-Study Program), programs for gifted students, business/computer classes, agriculture classes (Greenhouse), college preparatory curriculum, classes in graphic arts, Vo-tec classes at Rolla Vocational School, special service/handicap programs.
R-II students are transported by public owned buses. Buses travel in excess of 2700 miles daily. Students living one-half mile from school or more are offered transportation services.
Gasconade County R-II High School has been selected by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an A+ school site. This offers our students beginning with the Class of 2003 graduates eligibility for two years free tuition, books, and fees from any Missouri public community college, vocational school, or technical school. Upon being granted A+ Schools status, state funds will be available, and students will be entitled to receive financial reimbursement if they have met the following requirements:
Attended a designated A+ school for three consecutive years
Maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average
High School attendance record of 95%
Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoided the unlawful use of drugs
Enroll and attend on a full-time bases, a Missouri public community college or technical school and maintain a 2.5 grade point average
Apply for all available federal financial assistance funds that do not require repayment
The student financial incentive will be available for a period of four years after high school graduation to students who maintain their eligibility.
