Friends of St James Church, Cooling

The Churches Conservation Trust is keen to establish a Friends organisation for St James Church, Cooling. It is already a much-loved church, beautifully cared for by a few dedicated supporters, but in order to plan for the future it is essential to establish a larger group who can work with the Trust to care for the church, to organise events and to help with its presentation. It is one of the most-visited buildings in the Trust's portfolio of 335 historic churches.

A Friends organisation for the church will be able to
  • Raise money to pay for specific projects to improve the church.
  • Organise cleaning and flower rotas
  • Arrange events - from concerts to exhibitions and everything in between
  • Support the Churches Conservation Trust in its work and to work on joint initiatives with other local bodies such as Tourist Boards and local schools.
The Friends of St James Church Cooling is to be set up at a public meeting to be held in the church on FRIDAY MAY 6th 2005 at 2.30pm.

If you feel you can help us in any way please do get in touch. Offers to serve on the committee are particularly welcome, but we also need to hear from people who would like to join as ordinary members.
