Opportunities to Serve
ACOLYTES
Youth, beginning at about nine years of
age, may be trained to serve as acolytes. Training is provided twice a
year for new acolytes as well as current acolytes who wish to acquire new

ALTAR GUILD
Members of the altar guild are dedicated
parishioners who are responsible for the care of the altar and sanctuary.
During their assigned month, each Altar Guild member is responsible for
dressing the altar, cleaning and caring for the Eucharistic vessels and keeping
the altar linens clean and pressed. Contact: Pat Oster, 364-6580.
CHOIR
Serving the church through song is a powerful
ministry. Those who have this talent are welcome to participate in our church
choir. Choir practice is on Wednesday evenings at 5:15 at the church. Contact: Clarissa White,

COLUMBARIUM COMMITTEE
The columbarium committee was established
in 1995. Three elected members serve on this committee, each serving a
three-year term. Contact: Jean McFarland 364-3217.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for all
aspects of
EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN (ECW)

Two Lay Delegates and one alternate
Delegate to Convention of the Diocese of
EUCHARISTIC VISITORS (EV)
LEM's are lay persons within the parish who
have received special training which permits them to conduct a brief worship
service and administer Communion to those who cannot attend church. In order to
participate in this ministry, one must be a confirmed communicant in good
standing, at least eighteen years old and approved by the Rector with the
consent of the Vestry. All LEMs must complete a
Diocesan LEM Training Program. Contact: Reverend Susan Bartlett,

LAY READERS/LECTORS
Lay Readers/Lectors are an essential
part of worship services within the Episcopal church.
Both lay readers and lectors read Scripture and prayers aloud during church
services and lay readers also minister the chalice during Eucharist. Lay
readers and lectors must be confirmed adult communicants in good standing. They
are licensed by the Bishop upon the recommendation of the Rector. The license
is issued for a three-year period. Contact: Pete Kinyon, 364-1012.
MEN'S FELLOWSHIP GROUP
All men in the congregation are members
of the Men’s Group. This group meets the first Friday of each
month for a Fellowship Breakfast and as needed to plan for upcoming events (see
the Calendar for dates). The most
popular event sponsored by the men is the annual Men's Dinner, which serves a
wonderful prime rib dinner, which is well
attended by the entire Rolla Community. Contact: Christ Church, 364-14990.
OPEN DOOR
Each Sunday

OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The Outreach Committee is responsible
for overseeing church programs that reach out to the community. They oversee
the operation of the Open Door, the collection of gifts for our adopted
Christmas Families, the planning of the community Martin Luther King Jr.
service, and prepare a monthly dinner for students in the Campus Ministry

PARISH LIFE COMMITTEE
The Parish Life Committee is the heart
& soul of social gatherings at the church. They organize and serve at many
functions throughout the year, such as the Easter Brunch, the Parish Picnic,
Blessing of the Animals, the Bishop's annual visit, the Greening of the Church,

PARISH VISITORS
These are parishoners
who regularly visit the shut-ins of the parish. Our Visitors provide another
link between the parish family and those who cannot be with us regularly.

PRAYER CHAIN
A group within the Church offering
intercessory prayers. The group meets monthly. Contact: John Carstens, 364-7536.
STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for our
annual pledge drive, which begins in early fall and ends in November. Members
of this committee send and receive pledge cards, call on parishioners, and
promote stewardship of the church. Contact: Don Madison,

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school runs from September to May
with a corps of dedicated teachers and involves children from pre-school age
though 6th grade. Contact: Bette Shields, 364-2128.
USHERS
Serve in this ministry at regular Sunday
Services and Special Services. Contact: Bill Silleck, 364-8001.
VESTRY
The vestry is the governing body of the
local church. It is composed of nine church members, who are nominated and
elected by the congregation at the annual meeting each January. Vestry members
serve a term of three years and are required to attend monthly vestry meetings
as well as an annual vestry retreat. In addition, each vestry member serves as
the chairperson of one of the committees within
