OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN
CHURCH SCHOOL
During the school year,
Christ Church
operates a Church
School for children in
pre-school through junior high school. This year's curriculum focuses on "Godly
Play" and involves a Montessori-based program which teaches our young
people about relationships. Contact: Bette Shields, 2128.
ADULT FORUM
Following the 8:00
Sunday service, a class is held for adults. The Adult Forum addresses a number
of topics including personal spirituality, Scripture, ethics, church history,
the liturgy of the church, and contemporary issues. Meetings may also scheduled during the mid-week based on a changing schedule
and availability of leaders. Contact: John Carstens 364-7536.
EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY
EFM is a program of
theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology
of the University of the South. It covers the basics of a theological education
in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Students
meet regularly, usually once a week, in seminars under the guidance of trained
mentors. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years
and 18 Continuing Education Units for each year's work. Although this is a four
year program, students need only commit to one year at a time. Contact: Julie Clark, 364-5380.
CONFIRMATION/RECEPTION/REAFFIRMATION
In the Fall, a six- week class is held for those seeking to be
confirmed in the Episcopal Church, received into the Church from another
denomination, or when desiring to reaffirm baptismal vows. Contact the Church Office, 364-1499.
VACATION CHURCH
SCHOOL
Each June, Christ Church
co-sponsors a week long Vacation Church school
for children in pre-school through the sixth grade. Contact the Church Office, 364-1499.
