She never married again and had to support herself, but so cheerful and friendly was her
nature that she was able to do this and raise her children. When the war broke out, she was
greatly interested, as she had learned her first lessons in liberty when her husband was
forced to flee from the old country.

Her last days were spent with her children, her youngest daughter having her most of the
time. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always glad to go to see"grandma"
an her birthdays were hailed with delight as a great family reunion.

During the last few months she was very weak and her death was due to old age. To the
last she retained the use of her faculties. Her three living children are: Mrs. Emma Wagner,
Mrs. Julia Schneddig of No. 525 South Jefferson and Carl Bick of No. 2842 Victor Street.
The service will be held at No. 1317 Park Avenue.

Mrs. Johanna Maria Lenz Bick was buried in St. Matthews Cemetery, 4360 Bates Street,
